babe (The Tab Media)

babe was an extension of the popular tabloid-style youth news site, The Tab, aimed at young women and published by Tab Media Ltd (over 6.5 million website visitors per month). It was launched at the University of Cambridge and expanded to over 80 universities in the United Kingdom and United States.

I was selected as one of 10 corresponding writers upon babe.net’s US expansion, reporting in weekly to the editor and pitching dozens of headlines each week. Due to my comedic and creative writing background, I was largely tasked with opinion pieces, individual takes and satire, while also focusing closely on trending conversation topics in media. My top piece drove the highest traffic on the site, receiving over half a million views (as of time of release) and tens of thousands of shares, as well as numerous re-shares by other major media platforms.
